Food As Medicine - 4 Pack
Protect the Body’s Most Vulnerable Areas Daily
Stress effects not only our emotional and mental states, but it also effects our brain and liver.
Lion’s Mane and Milk Thistle have recently been acknowledged for their effectiveness in aiding the brain and liver, respectively, in science journals.
“The reported health-promoting properties of the (Lion’s Mane) mushroom fruit bodies, mycelia, and bioactive pure compounds include antibiotic, anti-carcinogenic, anti-diabetic, anti-fatigue, anti-hypertensive, cardioprotective, hepatoprotective, nephroprotective, and neuroprotective properties and improvement of anxiety, cognitive function, and depression. “ ~ from Pubmed abstract
“Milk Thistle is the most well-researched plant in the treatment of liver disease…it acts as an antioxidant by reducing free radical production and lipid peroxidation, has antifibrotic activity and may act as a toxin blockade agent by inhibiting binding of toxins to the hepatocyte cell membrane receptors…and has been used to treat alcoholic liver disease, acute and chronic viral hepatitis and toxin-induced liver diseases.” ~ From Pubmed abstract
To start one’s day with a brain-boosting superfood is…well, a no-brainer. And with the amount of toxins and stress that the liver deals with on a daily basis, why not protect it with this herbal dynamic duo?

Along with Lion’s Mane and Milk Thistle, Relax & Recover and Immuno Umph! are the other formulas included in the Food As Medicine – 4 Pack. These two formulas provide protection and support for the nervous system, and a boost for the immune system, respectively.
Relax & Recover
A unique blend of herbs to support the over-taxed nervous systems of today. Long ago, humans needed to be hyper-alert in order to survive. We needed to be able to go into the fight or flight response mode at a moment's notice, either to flee from wild animals or to fight an invading warrior. The dramatic spikes of adrenaline were necessary then, but typically are no longer necessary. Persistent surges of adrenaline can damage your blood vessels, increase your blood pressure, and elevate your risk of heart attacks or stroke. It can also result in anxiety, weight gain, headaches, and insomnia. The problem lies in that our nervous system cannot distinguish the difference between the shock of an alarm clock and the shock of a tiger appearing before you…except that jarring alarm won’t eat you. Adrenaline coursing through your system in either instance has the same effect. These constant mini jolts of adrenaline throughout the day take its toll and can result in all of the symptoms mentioned above.
Immuno Umph!
Combines the power of Echinacea with Osha, Astragalus, and Elephant Tree, a sacred Native American herb. In times of stress, during seasonal changes, while traveling or during nervous system challenges, the immune system can take a beating. Immunostimulation activates innate immunity and promotes the release of microbial defenses to fight immunodeficiency conditions, chronic infections, or other systemic challenges.
Proper Dosage
All formulas can be taken directly under the tongue, or with a little water or juice. And dosages will vary depending on conditions.
Daily Dose Tinctures
The daily-dose tinctures of Lion’s Mane and Milk Thistle are great long-term formulas and should be taken regularly in order to get optimal benefits. Remember, herbs are more like superfoods and less like pharmaceuticals – they need to accumulate in one’s system to be effective.
- Lion’s Mane - 2-3 droppers-full with your morning drink; increase dosages in times of mental and emotional challenges
- Milk Thistle - Start with 2 droppers-ful 2 times a day; after two weeks reduce to half; increase dosages before and after taking medications or drinking alcohol, and during stressful times
As-Needed Tinctures
Relax and Recover (R & R) and Immuno Umph! should be taken as needed. R & R is excellent for insomnia or just to take sleep a little deeper. It also can be taken during the day in times of anxiety, to calm the nervous system, AND it’s not a sedative, so it won’t make you drowsy. Immuno Umph! is most beneficial when taken before traveling, when the seasons are changing, and during times of stress.
- Relax & Recover - 1-2 droppers-ful when needed. Take 1 additional dropperful after 20 min, if necessary
- Immuno Umph! - 1-2 droppers-ful when needed.
